COVID-19 Vaccines in Zimbabwe

We are pleased to hear that a vaccination programme has started in Zimbabwe. Vaccines arrived on the 15th February, with the first vaccination occurring the same week. Initially 200,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine were donated by China, but this has been doubled to 400,000. The Zimbabwean Government has purchased further doses for March delivery. There are also reports that Russia and India and COVAX have donated vaccines.

Whilst Zimbabwe remains in national lockdown, the schools remain shut, although on 1st March schools were told to “prepare for opening”.  We are pleased to hear this news and  hope that  pupils will soon be able to continue their education.
