Colman Junior School did walk 500 miles for the Mudeka Foundation (with apologies to the Proclaimers)

The sun shone on Friday 29th March when the entire school spent an hour clocking up laps for a sponsored walk http://www.colmanjunior.norfolk.sch.uk/category/children/school-council/

to raise money to support the Muda Feeding Programme. Each child, and their walking partner, walked as many times as they could around the school field field. The atmosphere was of full of determination and fun. In total the school walked 1,940 laps which equal just under 500 miles: an amazing achievement. The school set a target of £1,120, which would help support 350 school children every day for a month and we are really proud to announce they have raised an astonishing £1959.49.

Elisabeth Louis, our schools co-ordinator, and Anna Mudeka spent time before the event talking about education, music, and daily life in Zimbabwe. After collecting the cheque, Elisabeth presented each child with a fridge magnet showing a Zimbabwean school child so they remember, every time they open the ‘fridge how hard life can be.

Thank you so much to all the energetic children, their generous sponsors and the teachers and school council who made it all possible.
